NHS England Health Insight Survey (Wave 18): Key findings

NCL Wide

NCL ICB is pleased to share positive results from the latest NHS England Health Insight Survey (Wave 18), which highlight meaningful improvements that reflect sustained efforts.

Key highlights for NCL

  • Strong same-day contact success: NCL continues to perform above the London average and is steadily narrowing the gap with national performance levels.
  • Best overall contact experience ratings in London: NCL recorded the highest proportion of ‘good’ ratings from patients when describing their experience of contacting their GP practice.
  • Lowest ‘poor’ ratings in London: NCL practices also received the lowest levels of negative feedback, performing better than both London and national averages.
  • Patients see improvement: Across London, NCL patients were the most likely to say their practice has improved over the past 12 months, and the least likely to say it has worsened.

These encouraging results reflect the significant efforts made by practices to improve access, modernise patient pathways, and enhance the patient journey when contacting and using GP services.

Innovative approaches to practice operations, effective use of digital tools, multidisciplinary teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to patient care are directly contributing to these improved outcomes.
