NCL Cancer Alliance launches screening campaign for people experiencing homelessness

NCL Wide

The NCL Cancer Alliance has developed a cancer screening campaign, Your Health First for people experiencing homelessness. It aims to increase uptake of bowel, breast and cervical screening in North Central London.

Healthcare professionals and homeless individuals are being reminded that GP registration is possible by providing an alternative mailing address. This could be the GP practice. Reasonable adjustments are being trialled, such as flexibility with appointment times and pre-test support. Some screening services have received trauma-informed practice training.

The campaign will run from September to October 2024. Further information for healthcare professionals can be found on the Cancer Alliance website: Cancer screening for people experiencing homelessness - North Central London Cancer Alliance (nclcanceralliance.nhs.uk).

Public information is available on The 'small c' campaign - north, central and east London website.

Expiry date: Sunday, 10 November 2024
