HPV self-sampling study publishes positive results

NCL Wide

The results of the YouScreen study have been published in eClinicalMedicine. The study, conducted by King’s College London and funded by the North Central London and North East London Cancer Alliances, provided self-sampling kits to test for HPV to women and people with a cervix who were at least six months overdue for their cervical screening.

In summary, researchers found that offering self-sampling kits to under-screened women could boost the numbers screened in England by about 400,000 each year.

The research team and steering group would like to thank participating GP practices for their involvement in this game-changing work.
