The Enfield Training Hub is seeking expressions of Interest from NCL practices for staff who wish to apply for the General Practice Assistant (GPA) programme accredited with Greenwich University.

The programme has been accredited as a 20-credit module at Level 4 by the University of Greenwich, who also support the portfolio-only route which is accredited with 10 credits at Level 4.

Applicants to the GPA programme ideally need to demonstrate:

• completion of the Care Certificate (or the capacity to complete during the programme)
• an understanding of the role
• the ability to commit to the required learning within their contracted hours
• have a named GP supervisor
• have support from their employer
• possess, or will complete, Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths

Or

• be able to demonstrate readiness for study at level 4 through a marked written exercise.

A GP mentor must be available to support the learner in this programme. This accredited programme also includes clinical skills which our local NCL programme doesn’t.
