A thank you to WNL practice managers from Dr Josephine Sauvage, Chief Medical Officer, CMO Directorate.
Tuesday 21 April marked the first ever National Practice Managers' Day, I wanted to take the opportunity, on behalf of West and North London ICB, to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you.
Practice managers play a vital role in the success and sustainability of general practice. Your leadership, problem solving, resilience and commitment underpin the delivery of safe, high quality care for our communities every day. Often working behind the scenes, you balance competing pressures with professionalism, compassion and determination, and your contribution does not go unnoticed.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and expertise you bring to your practices and to the wider system across west and north London. Your work supports patients, staff and partners alike, and is fundamental to keeping primary care running effectively. As a GP myself, I can say hand on heart, to all our practice managers: we simply couldn’t do our jobs without you.
To mark the occasion the Institute of Practice Managers (IGPM) produced this short video showcasing the impact of the practice manager role: What is a practice manager?
We hope you feel proud of the impact you make.
Thank you again for everything you do, not just once a year, but every day.
With best wishes,
Josephine Sauvage
