The importance of identifying and understanding neurodiversity within the modern NHS

Neurodiversity is the idea that it's normal and acceptable for people to have brains that function differently from one another. Rather than thinking there is something wrong or problematic when some people don't operate similarly to others, neurodiversity embraces all differences.

In recognition of World Autism Acceptance Week 2022, NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) will be hosting this webinar to talk about the importance of understanding neurodiversity in the workplace. Guest speakers, who will be talking from their personal perspectives and lived experienced, include:

  • Andrew Carpenter – #ActuallyAutistic - Autism Programme Development Lead, NHS England and Improvement.
  • Laura Emson - Head of Staff Experience and Engagement, NHS England and Improvement.
  • Nikki Hill – Assistant Director of OD and Staff Wellbeing, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
