An all day session providing an introduction to the principles, spirit, and skills of motivational interviewing for general practice nurses.

Motivational interviewing is a style of communication that uses a guiding/reflective style to engage with patients, clarify their strengths and aspirations, and utilise their own motivations for change, and then promote independence of decision making.

This course is designed to assist general practice nurses to become more effective when communicating with patients about decision making surrounding their health behaviours.
