Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training: Safe Talk

Safe (Suicide Alertness For Everyone) Talk (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep safe) is a half-day course aiming to prepare you to be a suicide helper.

Course aims include being able to:

  • identify people thinking of suicide
  • overcome barriers in talking about suicide
  • identify reasons suicide may be missed, dismissed or avoided
  • practice using the four-step model of suicide alertness
  • connect people at risk of suicide with further appropriate help.

Each participant will receive a certificate, a wallet-sized reference card and a resource pack with information about sources of support for people having suicidal thoughts.
