Managing Patients with Non-Specific Cancer Symptoms and Making Referrals to Rapid Diagnostic Centres

This session, provided by the NCL Cancer Alliance, will cover actions in both primary and secondary care. There will be a particular focus on making the best use of the three rapid diagnostic centres in NCL, as well as how to ensure referrals on the non-specific symptoms pathway are appropriate.

For perspectives on the whole patient pathway, presenters will be:

  • Clare Stephens, GP and co-clinical director, NCL Cancer Alliance (chair)
  • Andrew Millar, consultant gastroenterologist and clinical network director for non-specific symptoms, NCL Cancer Alliance.

The team is also hoping to have nursing and administrative colleagues in attendance to offer their perspective on the pathway in secondary care.
