General Practice Appointment Data Quality Webinar

Following the publication of practice level appointment data from November 2022, the number of practices nationally who access and review their data on the NHS Digital GP Appointments Data Dashboard (GPAD) has increased.

A number of practices have highlighted data quality issues with their published data and have asked for support in ways to address these moving forward. The national Transforming Primary Care team is holding a webinar on improving GPAD data quality for general practice staff. Having more accurate data will support practices with planning and quality improvement work.

The webinar will provide information on:

  • who the appointment was with
  • mode of appointment
  • DNAs
  • appointment status
  • time between when the appointment was booked and took place.

Learning outcomes:

  • understanding how to access the GPAD dashboard
  • understanding why data gathering is important and how GPAD can help with this
  • why mapping appointment slots is important
  • why team involvement is important
  • top tips on improving data quality.

The webinar will be recorded and therefore participants are asked to register using their nhs.net account rather than any personal account. The recording will be made available on Connect/Futures to a wider primary care audience.

It is recommended that participants have access to their own GPAD date throughout the duration of the webinar.

To register for the webinar, practice staff should complete the short webform available via the booking link. Registrations can be made until 7 February. A calendar invite with joining instructions will then be circulated.
