As you are aware the NHS Long Term Plan has highlighted a need to grow pharmacy technician numbers with an increased demand for patient-facing clinical pharmacy roles. PTPTs will need to gain experience across care settings to ensure the future pharmacy technician workforce has the skillset and behaviours required to work flexibly across different healthcare settings within the multidisciplinary team.

As part of a national programme funded by the Pharmacy Integration Fund, Health Education England (HEE) are looking to work with employers to develop and run a PTPT Integrated Training Pilot commencing February 2020. HEE are looking for tri-partnerships that will support 48 PTPTs being trained in three of the following healthcare settings across England; hospital, community, general practice or care homes.
