An introductory course on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for nurses, nursing associates and AHPs working in primary care settings in North Central London hosted by the NCL Training Hub.

Covered in the session:

  • what COPD is and its impact
  • the difference between a normal airway and a COPD airway
  • the symptoms associated with COPD
  • the diagnostic process including history and investigations
  • the goals of management
  • assessing and managing COPD including both the pharmacological & non pharmacological options
  • inhaler technique
  • the COPD guidelines.
