Children Safeguarding Training Level 3

GPs and Practice Nurses are invited to attend this half day safeguarding children workshop run in conjunction with CNWL Children Provider Services.

The workshop is equivalent to level 3 Safeguarding Training as recommended in the RCP&CH Safeguarding Children & Young People: role & competencies for health care staff Intercollegiate Document 2014.

Aims of the session:

To enable participants to refresh their knowledge and skills in regard to child protection, promote joint working and information sharing, which will enable them to competently safeguard children and young people.

This will be achieved through case discussions which will enable participants to identify those groups at risk and understand their responsibilities to contributing to safeguarding these children and young people.

Objectives

 To understand their roles and responsibilities in regards to safeguarding children
 Recognise children & young who are at risk or suffering significant harm
 Develop an awareness of the emerging issues in regards to safeguarding children
 To gain an understanding on how to improve joint working and assessments across agencies
 To understand the learning from Serious Case Reviews
