Cervical Screening Sample Taker Training

This training is delivered in accordance with the NHS Cervical Screening Programme training guidelines and is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing.

The theoretical training comprises of two full days:

  • Thursday 8 February, 9.00am-4.30pm
  • Friday 9 February, 9.00am-4.30pm

Please note: In-person attendance on both days is mandatory. 

Following on from this clinical practice & portfolio work, under the supervision of a mentor, will need to be completed with a final external assessment

  • This course has been developed in line with the NHS Cervical Cytology Screening Programme (NHSCSP 2020) recommendations and guidelines accredited through the RCGP.
  • It is designed for qualified and registered nurses, nursing associates, and registered physician associates wishing to undertake cervical samples as part of their work.
  • It forms part of a training pathway for sample taker trainees. Please view the full pathway before you register
  • To complete the training pathway, all trainees will need to go through a period of supervision and mentoring. For this reason, only registrations from applicants who have a suitable mentor in place will be approved.
