Obesity/Healthy Weight Training (afternoon)
2pm, Tuesday 10 March 2020
Are you confident that you are effectively and successfully supporting your patients/clients to achieve healthy weight?
What is being done elsewhere in Primary/Community care?
Two out of three UK adults and one in three 11-year old children are living with overweight or obesity with adverse effects on their physical and psychological health. Conversations about weight should be a routine part of every contact with health and social care professionals but unfortunately weight often remains a taboo topic. This session will provide you with skills to discuss weight.
Topics will include:
- Let’s talk about weight: A step-by step guide to conversations about healthy weight.
- Language matters: The adverse health effects of weight stigma and how to reduce this.
- Signposting young people and adults to the appropriate services and what interventions are effective.
Please book this session via our online booking form on Eventbrite.
