Advanced Development Programme

The Advanced Development Programme, provided by the Self-Management Support & Behaviour Change team at Whittington Heath and facilitated by a healthcare professional and a tutor with a long-term condition, is a free training programme designed to support Haringey and Islington healthcare professionals to enhance and develop their knowledge and skills when it comes to supporting patients with long-term conditions to self-manage.

The Advanced Development Programme consists of ten and a half hours training, split into three three and a half hours workshops, with one month between each workshop.

The programme draws on clinical communications skills, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. Attendees must be open to learning new skills and must be able to attend all three sessions.

An alternative face-to-face programme will be running from Wednesday 13 September 2023. An alternative online programme will be running from Friday 6 October 2023.
