Advanced Development Programme: April 2023

The Advanced Development Programme aims to give health professionals an opportunity to enhance and develop their knowledge and skills in supporting patients living with long-term conditions to self-manage and make successful behaviour changes. Tips and techniques for collaborative working and successful care planning are gained on the course.

The programme consists of nine hours of training, divided into three three-hour sessions, the dates of upcoming sessions are provided below. Training is delivered by a healthcare professional and a lay tutor (i.e. someone who has experience of self-management).

Who is it for?

The programme is free to healthcare professionals working in Islington and Haringey.

How to take part

  • You need the approval of your manager to commit to the three sessions
  • Your job role must involve conducting one-to-one consultations with patients/clients who live with long-term conditions
  • You must be able to attend all three sessions
  • Be open to learning new skills and referring eligible patients to relevant self-management programmes

  • Session 2: Tuesday 16 May
  • Session 3: Tuesday 13 June
