The London Care Record (LCR), formerly known as the Health Information Exchange (HIE), provides summary information from multiple health and care source systems and is accessible via an in-context link within your local electronic patient record system.
The EMIS user role type will determine the level of information accessible on LCR. Practices are responsible to maintain appropriate level of access for their users.
The LCR service desk e: nclicb.digitalhelpdesk@nhs.net t: 020 3198 8738 is able to answer queries about:
- access requests and technical issues related to the platform; if you experience technical issues, please check with your source system provider (e.g. EMIS) in the first instance to establish if there is a network fault
- audit reports (e.g. subject access requests and usage reports).
The NCL LCR currently receives data from health and care organisations within and outside of NCL boundaries, including:
- Central and North West London NHS Trust
- Central London Community Healthcare
- London Borough of Barnet Adult Social Care
- London Borough of Camden Adult Social Care
- Moorfields Eye Hospital
- NCL GPs
- North London Foundation Trust
- North Middlesex University Hospital
- Royal Free London
- Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital
- University College London Hospitals
- Tavistock and Portman
- Whittington Health
For details of organisations outside of NCL providing data to the LCR, visit the One London website.
The LCR User Guide (see Useful resources) is embedded within the LCR platform (see screenshot below). There is also a News Feed icon, which includes information on scheduled downtime, new data sets, and new providers contributing data to the system. It is recommended to check the News Feed regularly for updates.
