In recent years, there has been a sharp uptake in patients requesting referrals for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). 

As a result of this, both GPs and ICBs are receiving a high-volume of emails and calls asking for more information on the referral process, waiting times and interim support.
