Radiology reports from Whittington Hospital and Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) containing an unexpected finding, will soon be alerted to GP practices via a new system.

This system will be going live from Wednesday 3 July. 

GP practices will be sent an automatic email to alert them to the finding. Once received, recipients must ‘acknowledge receipt’ (i.e.by clicking reply and sending an email).  An example of the alert can be viewed here. 

Timely communication and actioning of urgent and unexpected findings is a crucial part of patient safety.
