Did you know there is a child screening trial for type 1 diabetes? 

The ELSA Study is looking for children aged 3-13 years. The trial involves testing for islet cell antibodies which can be present years before onset of symptoms.

ELSA study team is asking practices to promote this trial to parent and carers of children aged 3-13yrs by sending them this message via Iplato or using the NHS app: ‘Your child can get tested for type 1 diabetes in the ELSA Study. A screening clinic is being held at the Northern Health Centre Holloway Road N7 6LB. Screening clinic will run on Tuesday 30 July and Thursday 1 August 2024.
