Suicide prevention e-learning available for all primary care staff

NCL Wide

Last year, the NCL Suicide Prevention Programme commissioned e-learning for clinical primary care colleagues to equip them with the knowledge and tools to navigate a conversation about suicidal thoughts. Over 80 colleagues from local surgeries have completed the e-learning so far and feedback has been excellent, with many reporting increased confidence and the intent to embed their learning into their practice moving forwards.

Two more training offers have been commissioned to complement the existing e-learning, extending this offer to all staff working within primary care:

  • Suicide awareness for professionals is a foundational e-learning course suitable for all members of staff within a primary care surgery.
  • Supporting others to make a safety plan is a practical module to help support those who have completed training to embed learning into practice.

More information about each course and which would be most suitable for your job role can be found in the attached flyer.

If you would like to include this e-learning as part of a shared learning session within your surgery, email for more details.
