NCL Integrated Care system, in collaboration with the area's local authorities, has developed a scheme to provide eligible care leavers with a 12-month NHS Prescription Pre-Payment Certificate to allow them to access prescriptions for free.

Eligible care leavers must:

• be aged 18 to 24, up to their 25th birthday
• have had a social worker and left local authority care in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington in the last seven years
• be registered with a GP.

Patients can access this scheme by contacting their personal advisor at their local authority’s leaving care service. The personal advisor will help them to fill in a form and apply on their behalf for a 12-month NHS Prescription Pre-Payment Certificate. Patients will need an email address they can access and must be registered with a GP.
