HSL Review pathology test results look-up system goes live

NCL Wide

Health Services Laboratories (HSL) and North Central London ICB are pleased to announce the rollout of the HSL Review System, a new digital platform designed to give clinicians across north central London faster and more comprehensive access to pathology results.

This enhancement supports improved clinical decision-making by bringing together results from Royal Free Hospital, Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals, North Middlesex University Hospital, and Whittington Health and University College London Hospitals sites into a single, easy-to-navigate interface.

Accessible directly via tQuest, the system enables users to view historic and current results, spot trends, and copy key findings back into EMIS or SystemOne for continuity of records and improved quality reporting. An NHS number serves as the primary search key, and results from all sites from 1 January 2026 onwards are available.

The platform enhances efficiency by notifying clinicians when valid previous results already exist, helping to reduce duplication in testing. It also introduces features to print and copy results seamlessly, giving primary care teams a more complete patient view.

Please note that governance processes remain unchanged: responsibility for test results stays with the original requester, and only fully authorised results are displayed.

The Welcome to HSL Review user guide provides full details including system access steps, viewing options, how to copy results, clinical governance points, and a helpful FAQ section for quick reference.
