HPAL is a online palliative and end-of-life care resource co-designed by patients and clinicians. Commissioned by West and North London ICB, it has been extended and is available across all 13 boroughs in west and north London.

Designed for use during a 10-minute consultation, HPAL provides quick access to concise, up-to-date guidance. Users can simply search for a symptom to find information on topics such as breathlessness, dry mouth, opioid conversion and more. The site also includes resources that can be shared directly with patients, carers and families.

HPAL features a directory of local services tailored to each borough, including pharmacies that stock end-of-life care medication. This enables practices to quickly signpost patients and colleagues to relevant local services. A translation toolbar is also available to improves accessibility for diverse communities.
