Cancer alliance seeks insight into practices' new patient registration processes

NCL Wide

NCL Cancer Alliance is undertaking insight work to understand how GP practices across north central London are implementing the NHS England patient registration form (PRF1), introduced in November 2024.

This work sits within the cancer data quality improvement programme. A cancer-coding minimum data set (MDS), has been developed and is available on EMIS Web, to support practices to code cancer-related information. Where possible, the MDS aligns with PRF1 fields, meaning complete and timely PRF1 records will directly support regional cancer data completeness.

At this stage, a baseline of current practice is being sought. This short survey (2-3 mins) can be completed by any primary care staff familiar with new patient registration.

Please share the link to the questionnaire with appropriate team members for completion by Friday 26 June.

For any queries, contact Joseph Dale, Programme Manager Commissioning, North Central London Cancer Alliance & NHS North Central London ICB.
