NCL Cancer Alliance Webinar: Having Effective Conversations About Physical Activity

This webinar is aimed at healthcare professionals in NCL and provides practical guidance on how to have more effective conversations with cancer patients about physical activity.

The Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) programme provides free peer-led training and practical resources to support all healthcare professionals (HCPs) from hospital consultants through to community based practitioners to have more effective conversations around physical activity with their patients. There is strong evidence that brief interventions by a health professional can help change the behaviour of a patient.

PACC trainers can highlight and explain the large amount of content on the Moving Medicine website. Evidence shows that Clinical Champions help increase knowledge and confidence of the HCP so they can be more effective in the delivery of brief interventions.

Sarah Dewhurst, one of the PACC trainers, will be leading this webinar. She currently works at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as a physiotherapist and the lead for living with and beyond cancer. She is passionate about translating the emerging evidence on exercise and cancer into practice.
