Modern Management of Heart Failure in Primary Care

A heart failure webinar series for NCL primary care staff has been commissioned, and will be held at intervals until next summer.

All webinars will be delivered by Dr Yassir Javaid, clinical subject matter expert (GP with a specialist interest in cardiology).

The first 90-minute session is scheduled on Tuesday 29th September 2026, between 12:30 - 2 pm.

The management of heart failure has evolved considerable over the past few years and this session will get you up to speed with the relevant evidence and guidance from a primary care perspective. It will cover key aspects of establishing a diagnosis including the differential diagnosis and aetiology.

There will also be a masterclass on ECG interpretation relevant to heart failure patients. The webinar will cover key aspects of the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management to both HFrEF and HFpEF and include therapies beyond the 4 pillars and in particular the role of device therapy.
