Peer Review LCS
EnfieldPeer Review LCS
The purpose of the Peer Review Locally Commissioned Service (LCS) is to describe the components of the Peer Review Plan for 2022-23. This year’s proposal places greater emphasis on supporting practices to address unwarranted variation in general practice. The expectation is that this will encourage and empower practices to foster a quality improvement methodology approach.
Across the borough of Enfield, there is a high-level of variation at both a primary care network (PCN) level and borough level regarding population health needs and outcomes. Each practice takes a different approach to referral management, patient education, access and addressing complex case management, which has been further evidenced through practice visits. Along with this, service provision and skill mix is also widely varied across Enfield.
The purpose of this specification is to outline the principles by which the Peer Review Scheme will help to support reducing variation and delivering out of hospital services.
The GP PCN clinical directors, the GP Federation leads and Enfield borough will support the outcomes of the Peer Review service specification in each PCN.
In order to realise patient outcomes, this specification illustrates the maximum practice-level achievement (based on attendance and work undertaken).
