The Rapid Assessment Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) clinic runs daily (seven days a week). 

Where TIA is a plausible diagnosis, patients can be referred to outpatient investigations at Basil Samuel Outpatients Department, National Hospital for Neurology.

You can check for the nearest TIA unit using the London Stroke Unit Lookup tool.

If patient currently symptomatic:

  • Call 999. Do not give aspirin.

If patient not currently symptomatic, but high-risk TIA:

  • Call hyper-acute stroke unit (HASU) specialist registrar (SpR)
