Fast assessment and diagnosis for patients with:

  • new or recent onset of exertional chest pain suggestive of ischaemic heart disease (IHD), or,
  • worsening symptoms in a patient with known IHD who is not under active follow-up by a cardiologist

For patients with known IHD, send to a general cardiology clinic unless they have new or worsening symptoms.

Patients with suspected MI or Acute Coronary Syndrome should go directly to A&E.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

For patients with:

Patients 18 year and over with:

  • new or recent onset of exertional chest pain suggestive of ischaemic heart disease (IHD) or,
  • worsening symptoms in a patient with known IHD who is not under active follow-up by a Cardiologist.

Exclusions

  • patients already under active cardiology follow-up
  • patients under the age of 18

 


How to refer

e-RS (electronic referral service)

Please attach referral letter, or use referral form, or send a copy of GP Consultation via the electronic referral system.

Please include clinical reason for referral, relevant past medical history, medication history and up-to-date contact details. Include recent blood test results and copy of ECG if already done.
