Cyber Security Team issues advice following increase in phishing emails

NCL ICB Cyber Security Team is reporting a significant uptick in the number of phishing emails targeting NHS.net users over recent weeks.

Many of the emails come from genuine NHS.net accounts that have been compromised by criminals and then used to send unsolicited emails containing attachments or links to try and trick people into providing access to information.

Phishing emails come in many different formats that evolve over time. The following are recent examples:

The Cyber Security Team is asking all general practice staff to be extra vigilant. If you receive an email with links to external documents, double check to make sure it’s genuine. If in doubt contact, NCL ICT Service Desk for advice.
